Its two channels can function as a 16-step sequencer, run in parallel, or switch to random and other creative modes, with volca-style step buttons for hands-on control. Performance features include Active Step for skipping steps, Step Jump for instant triggering, and Slide for smooth acid-style basslines. Resolution is selectable (quarter, eighth, or 16th notes), with pitch assignments mapped directly or to chromatic, major, and minor scales. Supporting both Hz/V and V/Oct standards, the SQ-1 works with classic and modern synths, offering connectivity through dual CV/GATE outputs, MIDI OUT, USB MIDI, littleBits out, and SYNC IN/OUT.
