Perfect for the first time player or the economical hobbyist, the 800 Series Black provides fantastic tone and brilliant quality at a reasonable price. With its new scalloped bracing, Yamaha has achieved a louder and stronger sound in the low- to mid-ranges. This new bracing has created an innovative and ideal acoustic structure to maintain durability while bringing out the most sound possible. After intensive research on what type and kind of guitar I can learn on that isn't toy like nor too expensive I've found this to be the medium as well as balanced guitar to start out with. No regrets other than the action is a touch high but I have low tolerance for pain so I'm good, no pain no gain have learned 3 chords in a week already!
Yamaha FG800 is a cut above entry-level steel string acoustic guitars like Yamaha F325D or Fender FA-115, as it boasts a solid top and scalloped bracing. The price point is a bit higher than those models, but you'll enjoy a richer sound, better string action, and more reliable tuners. Yamaha acoustic guitars have long been a popular choice for beginners and students. Available in natural as well as black finish, this particular bundle includes everything you need to start playing right out of the box, including gig bag, tuner, strap, strings, picks, and instructional materials. Another version of the bundle is available with hard case rather than gig bag for additional cost.Yamaha FG800 is a cut above entry-level steel string acoustic guitars like Yamaha F325D or Fender FA-115, as it boasts a solid top and scalloped bracing. This is my 1st guitar so I don't really have anything to compare it to. But after a lot of research, I settled on the FG800. The quality and finish are great - no visible defects. I got it in the BLACK tint that can only be found here at Austin Bazaar. My girls picked the black for me out of like five different tints from different dealers. I also liked that it was a great deal with the bundled hard case, etc. It shipped "in" the case so the added protection during shipping was nice.
