      My go-to uke

Posted by Cynthia Wigington on 19th Mar 2016

I got this uke a year or so ago, this package too, which also included the near paper-thin but lightweight and handy kala gig-bag with the handle. I have many ukes, from baritones to a pretty decent soprano. However, I probably grab this one about half the time - why? It's fun to play, stays in tune well, (still haven't changed the black strings it came with), sounds good (although the back and sides are molded plastic of some sort), AND, key, I can leave it sitting in a uke stand on my table year round in Vermont, with a wood stove and variable temperature in the house. It's my worry-free uke. I play it outside, drag it around in the car in its light little bag, show kids how to play uke with it. Oh, and I really like the shark, gives me the courage to get up and do what needs to be done.
