This is great little uke for the money.

The only issue comes from the strings that are on the uke when it is shipped. I had to get new strings immediately cause the original strings would not stay tuned and I did not like how they wrapped the strings around the fin of the shark. I put Martin uke strings on and it really improved the performance.

      Excellent Gift for Starting Musicians

Posted by Michael B. on 22nd May 2015

I bought this as a gift for a young woman just beginning to show a serious interest in music. So many instruments for younger, beginning musicians are poor-quality, low performing toys: imitations of the real instruments that are meant for playing pretend. In contrast, this ukelele is the real deal. Its size and complexity make it attractive to young learners, but it is a genuinely nice instrument. It's made to be played, gives a nice sound, and is refreshingly free of kiddie-toy branding. I'm very happy with it.

falls out of tune easily, but great for beginners!

I really enjoy it as my first ukulele. Even hard core players compliment it. However, the A string falls out of tune almost every 5 minutes, but I guess thats the price I paid for it. Other than that, I love it! Its extremely cute and sounds nice!
