I'm fairly new to ukulele, playing for about 5 months and decided to get another after having issues with a Luna concert uke. Austin Bazaar has been an amazing experience and I won't be buying instruments or accessories anywhere else.
I did quite a bit of research for this purchase and decided on this Fender Concert because you get three name brands for a great deal. Fender, Fishman and Grace Vanderwaal. This concert uke is absolutely stunning, the gold touches and vinyl makes it picture perfect. The gig bag would easily cost $40 independently, it has interior foam padding making it much sturdier than Luna's included "gig bags"; my only complaint is that the front pocket unzips almost all the way around and allows things inside to fall out easily.
It comes with quality aquila strings, I feel that the sound is very shallow when compared to my wood Kala Soprano, but it is a richer sound than my "Starry Night" Luna Concert. I do not feel that the Fishman tuner works inconsistently and sometimes does not turn on. As a result, I prefer my small Fender or Snark tuners. The tuner also requires two C2032 (included) batteries instead of one, like my other tuners.
Some other cons are that the neck is vinyl and may cause your hand to stick in humid climates when sliding up and down the fret board. There are no buttons for a strap, and the pickup is not directly on bottom, it is off center which will require an angled instrument cable.
Overall, I would purchase this uke again , and think it is a wonderful gift for a beginner but I feel the sound is just a little lacking.
