The Best $200 Guitar On The Planet!
Looks great, feels great, great fit & finish, sound quality FAR ABOVE price point. I have played for 40+ years and owned many fine instruments. This will NOT compete with a $3k+ Martin, but the difference is NO WHERE NEAR $2800! The ONLY drawback is that the bridge pins are not standard size so I drilled out the pin holes with a 13/64" drill bit and now standard pins fit. The only other suggestion I would make is Ernie Ball Aluminum/Bronze (12-54) strings. Your FG800 will sound as good as a low-to-mid level Martin!

Outstanding value!
Wow! It’s clear why this guitar tops most “best inexpensive guitar” lists. It looks, feels, and sounds like a more expensive instrument. The tone is beautiful and it does indeed seem louder than similar guitars as Yamaha claims due to scalloped bracing on the interior. The included accessories (bag, tuner, extra strings, strap) are a real bargain too—quality items worth at least twice as much. Only one negative: Yamaha needs to use more padding in its shipping boxes. My box had a coupe of puncture holes when it arrived and one barely noticeable ding below bridge due to shipping damage (not bad enough to return though). But overall, this was an excellent purchase!
