We've seen a lot of ukuleles here at Austin Bazaar. Electric ones, travel-sized ukes, pink ones, even pineapple shaped ukuleles. Thanks to a gorgeous finish and full tones, the Golden Acacia Series Ukuleles have charmed us into adding them to the collection. The wood from these ukuleles comes from the tropical Acacia tree, a cousin of the Hawaiian Koa, another tonewood often used in instrument construction. The Acacia wood has been carefully selected to feature its unique golden and honey striped patterns. An alternative to Kala's All Solid Acacia Series, a solid acacia top and acacia back and sides give these ukes deep, colorful tones. Additional features include die-cast tuners with black buttons, rosewood fingerboards and Aquila strings. A satin finish completes and compliments the features of these ukuleles.
Standard sizes include Soprano, Concert with optional EQ, Tenor, and Tenor Cutaway with EQ. If you like to travel with your ukulele, you'll be happy to read the Golden Acacia design is available in Kala's innovative Thinline Travel series. Sizes include Soprano, Concert, and Tenor (all travel models come with a custom, deluxe logo bag). The long list of Kala admirers include Michael McDonald, Taj Mahal, the Uke Orchestra of Great Britain, Joe Brown, Daniel Ho and Jim D'Ville. And soon, you!
David Barratt, accomplished composer/producer and Kala enthusiast, put it best when he said, "If every citizen spent a little bit of time playing the ukulele, the world would be a nicer place." We couldn't agree more with Mr. Barratt, and challenge you to make the world a nicer place by playing your Golden Acacia Series Ukulele. Mahalo!
